Data Warehouse Data Architect / Modeler

A Dallas-Fort Worth Government Agency is seeking to contract a Data Architect to provide data modeling and data architecture initiatives for an Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Project tasks will include the definition of user requirements; development of detailed design documentation, development strategy, and implementation approach.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

· Project Management skills necessary to prioritize and manage day-to-day activities and deliverables.

· Provide analysis, design, and development of enterprise based models.

· Acts as a liaison between business executives and technical staff at all levels.

· Supports, leads, and assists business sponsor and customers with requirements definition, project definition, and project planning.

· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key business managers.

· Closely reviews and interprets all plans, specifications and schedules for each project’s scope of work in conjunction with the resources assigned from the business.

· Works closely with customers, developers or vendors to manage issues, scheduling, etc., as they arise.

· Coordinates with customers and vendors as needed.

· Monitors progress of each project at every phase of the process, doing everything possible to avoid delays and costs.

· Prepares and submits proper close-out documents to appropriate parties.

· Assists customers with cost-benefit analyses and business cases to support new project proposals.

· Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of business processes and applications, customer needs and priorities.

· Ability to manage data warehouse projects that covers working directly with the Project Management Group to produce timelines, project plans, documenting technical specifications, system testing with the delivery of product.

· Experience identifying process changes; ability to design and help implement revised processes.

· Experience with preparation and delivery of communications to end-users.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

· 7+ years in Information Technology Experience;

· 5+ years as a data architecture / data modeler;

· Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks.

· Work with a diverse group including users, developers, etc.

· Establish, follow and enforce documentation standards.

· Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities and tasks.

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Administration. Computer Sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
